Found a company based in Japan these look like 23" wheels. Looking and attempting to read the site using my Google translator they say Firestone 23" |

CAD planning
Using some of the bikes that have inspired me I overlayed the stock xs650 frame drawing in AutoCAD.
I scaled the pictures by guessing their wheel sizes.
I really like lines of hard tailed triumphs however it now appears that the xs frame is much taller and will be difficult to replicate.
I am concerned about the rear 18 being out of proportion if I run a 21 front.
I think it looks good however the 23" front wheel looks more balanced.
My issue with the 23" front is that I cant run a traditional Avon speedmaster.
Below is a 23" tire on the Harley chrome wheel.
I think the Bratsyle xs650 above is also running a 23 which I don't mind. |
I like xs650 with very little stretch in the rear.
The girder forks make the bike a little longer.
This is the frame a drew up tracing a .jpg of technical drawings from xs650.com.
It looks right and will do for now but will need to be checked to make sure its perfect.

xs650 The next project
Tucked away in my garage I have a build going on a xs650.
I have no idea when it will be finished or what it will eventually look like.
As I type this there are plans for a completely different direction to what you see below.
But here is a little timeline of photos I have stitched together to give you a idea of what I'm currently working on.
Moved into a bigger garage and the transformation began
Picked Up a spare xs650 frame wheels and tank so I could mock up options
18" Rear 19 front. Plan is for a 21 front
15" Rear 19 front. Plan is for a 21 front
My First shared garage. The bike sat stock for quite some time due to the lack of space

FOR SALE
Yes exciting times for 1 lucky person the bike is now for sale!
I don't have to room to display it and it can only hop from gallery to gallery for so long until it is tucked away under a dusty blanket in my garage.
